Il Sole Camping Village lies nestled in the shade of a centuries-old pine forest, about 900 metres from the sea and the town of Marina di Grosseto, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, on the border between the Maremma Natural Park and the Tuscan Archipelago Park. Just a few kilometres from the site, there are towns dating back to the Etruscan, Roman, and medieval periods, beaches recognised as among the most beautiful in Italy (Cala Violina, Cala di Forno, Rocchette), along with some of Europe’s most important areas of outstanding natural beauty and nature reserves (Diaccia Borbottona, Orbetello Lagoon, Burano Lake, etc.).

There are pleasant cycle paths and footpaths through the pine forest but, of course, you can also get around by car. The site has a free shuttle service that runs from mid-June to 10 September and a bicycle rental service.

Our coast has been awarded the blue flag and the green flag.

The blue flag is a recognition granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to European coastal resorts that meet quality criteria relating to bathing water parameters and the service offered, taking into account, for example, the cleanliness of beaches and tourist landings.

The green flag, awarded by the SIPPS (Italian Society of Preventive and Social Paediatrics) rewards municipalities that stand out for their “child-friendly beaches”, a recognition that is a guarantee of hygiene, safety and protection for children.

In particular, the Green Flag guarantees:

• Safety and security ensured by qualified personnel, experienced lifeguards and trained first responders, both on the beach and in the sea.
• Spacious areas between umbrellas to enable children to play freely and peacefully.
• Low waters and clean seabeds.
• Fine, golden sand that is perfect for making beautiful sand castles
• Facilities such as bars, ice cream parlours and spaces that are suitable for families
